Peringatan 152 Tahun Jembatan Lama
KEDIRI -Jembatan Brug Over den Brantas te Kediri atau yang lebih dikenal sebagai Jembatan Lama Kota Kediri, telah berumur 152 tahun pada 18 Maret 2021, sekaligus sebagai salah satu cagar budaya bersejarah di Kota Kediri. Sebagai bentuk rasa syukur sekaligus menjaga cagar budaya ini, Wali Kota Kediri bersama perwakilan Forkopimda, Disbudparpora Kota Kediri serta komunitas pegiat dan pemerhati sejarah di Kota Kediri, menyelenggarakan kegiatan kerja bhakti bersih-bersih Jembatan Lama, untuk menjaga dan merawat jembatan bersejarah itu, Kamis (18/3).

Jembatan Lama Kota Kediri berusia lebih tua dibanding Jembatan Brooklyn di Amerika Serikat dan merupakan jembatan yang menggunakan konstruksi besi pertama di Jawa. “Kita memperingati jembatan ini berdiri di Kota Kediri yang menghubungkan antara kawasan barat dan timur Sungai Brantas. Alhamdulillah jembatan yang dulu namanya Brug Over den Brantas te Kediri ini sudah berusia 152 tahun. Kita akan merawat sampai kapan pun. Terima kasih untuk teman-teman, karena selalu memberi masukan kepada saya terkait sejarah-sejarah yang ada di Kota Kediri, baik yang sudah ataupun belum menjadi cagar budaya. Itulah yang bisa kita pertontonkan kepada anak cucu kita. Kalau cerita pasti bisa selalu terjaga, tapi terkait bentuk, butuh pengorbanan yang besar karena biasanya bangunan itu rusak,” kata Abdullah Abu Bakar, Wali Kota Kediri.
Mas Abu menyebut, ke depan Pemerintah Kota Kediri berencana membuat city tour ke tempat-tempat bersejarah di Kota Kediri. Rute perjalanan akan dimulai dari Jembatan Lama hingga Goa Selomangleng. Sejumlah tempat bersejarah lain yang berdekatan di Kota Kediri, antara lain Benteng Blokhuis dan eks kantor Karesidenan, rumah dinas Kapolres, juga kantor Pengadilan Negeri, yang dulu merupakan tempat pertama kali bendera merah putih dikibarkan di Kota Kediri. “Saya berharap teman-teman bisa membantu Pemerintah Kota Kediri, sehingga ke depan bisa menjadi paket city tour yang akan membawa dampak ekonomi dan sosial,” tandas Mas Abu.
Pemerintah Kota Kediri, lanjut Mas Abu, telah menyediakan anggaran untuk perawatan dan pembersihan Jembatan lama. Namun Wali Kota Kediri juga berharap masyarakat ikut andil dan berperan menjaga kelestarian Jembatan Lama. “Tentu ini akan kita rawat dan jaga jembatan lama ini. Melindungi jembatan lama ini bukan hanya tanggung jawab pemerintah, tapi juga seluruh masyarakat. Semoga kita bisa merawat jembatan ini sampai kapan pun,” ujarnya.
Sementara itu di tempat yang sama, Imam Mubarok, salah satu budayawan sekaligus penggagas menjaga dan melestarikan cagar budaya jembatan lama ini, mengungkapkan gerakan bersih-bersih di jembatan lama yang difasilitasi Pemkot Kediri melalui Disbudparpora ini, merupakan inisiasi dari para pemerhati budaya yang merasa turut memiliki dan mensyukuri keberadaan Jembatan Lama di Kota Kediri. “Dari kawan-kawan tanpa diundang khusus datang, karena punya rasa saling memiliki yang sangat luar biasa terhadap jembatan lama ini. Karena Jembatan Lama ini sudah ditetapkan sebagai cagar budaya bersamaan dengan peresmian Jembatan Brawijaya Tanggal 18 Maret 2019 lalu, besar harapan kami jembatan ini bisa terawat dengan baik. Tidak hanya menjadi tanggung jawab pemerintah, tapi tanggung jawab bersama,” ungkap Imam Mubarok. (bad)

As a form of gratitude and at the same time protecting this cultural heritage, the Mayor of Kediri, together with representatives of Forkopimda, Disbudparpora of Kediri City and the community of activists and observers of history in Kediri, organized devotional work activities to clean the Old Bridge, to maintain and care for the historic bridge, Thursday ( 18/3).
The Kota Kediri Old Bridge is older than the Brooklyn Bridge in the United States and is the first iron-constructed bridge in Java. “We commemorate this bridge standing in the city of Kediri, which connects the western and eastern regions of the Brantas River. Alhamdulillah, the bridge, which used to be called Brug Over den Brantas te Kediri, is 152 years old. We will take care of it forever. Thank you friends, for always giving me input regarding the history of Kediri, whether or not it has become a cultural heritage. That is what we can show our children and grandchildren. If the story can always be maintained, but in terms of form, it takes a lot of sacrifice because usually the building is damaged, “said Abdullah Abu Bakar, Mayor of Kediri.
Mas Abu said that in the future the Kediri City Government plans to make a city tour to historical places in the city of Kediri. The route will start from the Old Bridge to Selomangleng Cave. A number of other historical places nearby in Kediri, including Benteng Blokhuis and the former Residency office, the official residence of the Police Chief, as well as the office of the District Court, was the first place the red and white flag was raised in Kediri. “I hope my friends can help the Kediri City Government, so that in the future it can become a city tour package that will have an economic and social impact,” said Mas Abu.
The City Government of Kediri, continued Mas Abu, has provided a budget for maintenance and cleaning of the old bridge. However, the Mayor of Kediri also hopes that the community will take part and play a role in preserving the Old Bridge. “Of course we will take care of this old bridge. Protecting this old bridge is not only the responsibility of the government, but also the whole community. Hopefully we can maintain this bridge at any time,” he said.
Meanwhile, in the same place, Imam Mubarok, one of the cultural observers and the initiator of maintaining and preserving the cultural heritage of this old bridge, revealed that the cleaning movement on the old bridge facilitated by the Kediri City Government through Disbudparpora, is an initiation of cultural observers who feel they have a share of ownership. and be grateful for the existence of the Old Bridge in Kediri City. “Uninvited friends came because they had an extraordinary sense of belonging to this old bridge. Since the Old Bridge has been designated as a cultural heritage along with the inauguration of the Brawijaya Bridge on 18 March 2019, we hope that this bridge can be well maintained.
