Propose Pancasila Education Since Early Childhood Education
KEDIRI – The commotion after the issuance of Government Regulation (PP) Number 37 of 2021 which removes Pancasila and Indonesian Education from the education curriculum, has led to a number of thoughts from various parties, education experts, academics, and community groups about the importance of Pancasila and Indonesian education. The Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim, immediately responded to the commotion by ensuring that Pancasila and Indonesian education were included in the education curriculum.
The Center for the Study of Pancasila and Nationality (FPKPK) appreciated the responses of various groups. The community response is a form of public concern for Pancasila and the improvement of the National Education System. “We also appreciate the Mendikbud’s quick response by proposing amendments to the PP,” said Dr. DJoko Santoso, FPKPK member in Kediri.
Djoko explained, reminding the importance of Pancasila values in the life of the nation and state, FPKPK proposed that Pancasila be included in the compulsory education curriculum from Early Childhood Education (PAUD) to Higher Education. “Likewise with Religious Education, it is very important to be included as a compulsory curriculum from early childhood to tertiary education,” said Djoko.
Apart from that, the FPKPK also proposed replacing Law no. 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System (Sisdiknas) because some of the articles in the law are not in line with efforts to strengthen the values of Pancasila. “There are also several articles and verses that are inconsistent. So it needs changes to be more in line with the spirit and values of Pancasila, “he added. (mam)
