Hasanuddin, Jl. Teuku Umas, Jl. A. Yani, Jl.
Sebab penumpang becak sekarang langka. Dalam sehari belum tentu mendapatkan penumpang. Sementara kebutuhan keluarga tidak bisa ditunda. “Saya malah sejak puasa belum narik penumpang,”saut Darmuji, yang ikut nimbrung bersama Giarto.
Tapi mengapa justru tukang becak semakin banyak?
(mam)
Hundreds of Pedicab Drivers ‘Grocers
KEDIRI – The difficult economic situation in the midst of the pandemic Covid-19, especially ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, gave rise to a new phenomenon in the City of Kediri, namely the emergence of hundreds of pedicab drivers who appeared to be lined up almost all of the protocol streets. Whereas practically, rickshaw passengers have dropped dramatically or are very small. Not balanced with the number of pedicab drivers that have sprung up lately.
Along Jalan Diponegoro, for example, there are estimated to be around 25 to 30 pedicab drivers who later each day hangout, such as at the post office T-junction, Balowerti T-junction, SMPN 1 junction, Matos intersection, and so on. Whereas previously there were only about 5 to 10 pedicab drivers. A similar phenomenon also occurred on Jl. Hasanuddin, Jl. Teuku Umas, Jl. A. Yani, Jl. PK Nation, and so on. “In the afternoon, there are far more Mas,” said Giarto, who claimed he had been at the T-junction at SMPN 1 (5/5/2020)
According to Giarto, they did not expect much to get passengers. Because pedicab passengers are now scarce. Within a day does not necessarily get a passenger. While family needs cannot be postponed. “I have not even attracted passengers since fasting,” said Darmuji, who joined in with Giarto.
But why are there more and more pedicab drivers? Giarto explained, they generally hope that there are people who give alms in the midst of the difficult economy they face. Incidentally, lately there are often people who share groceries. “Alhamdulillah, yes, if there is someone for groceries. Can be used for wife and children, “he added.
Whereas in the afternoon, the number of pedicab drivers who hung more and more because usually there are people who distribute takjil for them. “If the most often there is takjil, almost every afternoon,” said Giarto. (mam)
