Agus Sunyoto, Sejarawan NU, Dimakamkan di Balong

KEDIRI – Jenazah (alm) Agus Sunyoto, ketua Lembaga Seni Budaya Muslimin Indonesia (Lesbumi) PBNU, budayawan NU dan penulis sejarah ke-Islaman Nusantara, itu akhirnya dimakamkan di kompleks Pondok Pesantren Ar Rosyad, Desa Balong, Kecamatan Ringinrejo, Kabupaten Kediri, belakang masjid Ar-Rosyad, setelah melalui berbagai pertimbangan oleh keluarganya. Sebelumnya, ada beberapa lokasi pilihan untuk tempat pemakaman penulis buku ‘Atlas Walisongo’ itu, antara lain Setonogedong, Setonolandean, Gurah, Papar, dan Balong. Namun, akhirnya keluarga memilih untuk dimakamkan di Balong, Selasa (27/4/2021).

Imron Arifin, adik kandung Agus Sunyoto, yang ikut datang ke lokasi pemakaman, menjelaskan sebeum meninggal Agus Sunyoto sempat berwasiat agar jika dia sudah tidak ada, dia ingin dimakamkan di Kediri. “Jadi, mengapa di makamkan di Kediri, karena ini wasiat, keinginan dia sendiri,”ujarnya, ditemui sejumlah awak media usai pemakaman.

Pemakaman (alm) Agus Sunyoto dilakukan secara protokol kesehatan oleh tim kesehatan. Pemakamannya juga dikawal oleh para anggota Banser Ansor Kabupaten Kediri, karena Agus Sunyoto memang sejak puluhan tahun menjadi Pembina Banser. Hadir pula KH. Reza Ahmad Zahid, salah satu pengasuh Ponpes Mahrusiyah Lirboyo.

Secara umum, Agus Sunyoto dikenal sebagai penulis sejarah ke-Islaman Nusantara dan budayawan berdedikasi di kalangan NU. Dia juga menulis sejumlah novel yang umumnya berlatar sejarah. Karyanya yang paling terkenal adalah buku Atlas Walisongo. (mam)

Agus Sunyoto, NU Historians, Buried in Balong

KEDIRI – The body (late) Agus Sunyoto, chairman of the PBNU Indonesian Muslim Arts and Culture Institute (Lesbumi), NU cultural observer and Islamic history writer in the archipelago, was finally buried in the Ar Rosyad Islamic Boarding School complex, Balong Village, Ringinrejo District, Kediri Regency, behind the Ar-Rosyad mosque, after going through various considerations by his family. Previously, there were several selected locations for the burial place of the author of the book “Atlas Walisongo”, including Setonogedong, Setonolandean, Gurah, Papar, and Balong. However, the family finally chose to be buried in Balong, Tuesday (27/4/2021).
KH. Imron Arifin, Agus Sunyoto’s younger brother, who also came to the funeral site, explained that before his death Agus Sunyoto had a will so that if he was not there, he wanted to be buried in Kediri. “So why was he buried in Kediri, because this is a will, his own wish,” he said, when met by a number of media crews after the funeral.
The funeral of (late) Agus Sunyoto was carried out according to the health protocol by the health team. His funeral was also guarded by members of the Ansor Banser in Kediri Regency, because Agus Sunyoto has been a Banser coach for decades. KH. In general, Agus Sunyoto is known as a writer of Islamic history in the archipelago and a dedicated cultural observer in NU circles. He has also written a number of novels that are mainly historical. His most famous work is the book Atlas Walisongo. (mam)
